Lisa's second foal, "Echo" was born early on May 5, 2004. Lauren got to her when she was still wet, at 3:30 in the morning. She has a champagne color, but picked up the markings of her dad, "Junior". Of the six foals sired by Junior, three are colts, three are fillies. The colts all retained the mother's solid color, the fillies are all paints. Sweet Dreams had her second foal, "Emmy" on March 9, 2004, hence the name "Emerald" in honor of St. Patrick's Day. She has the "boot of Italy" marking constant with all of the fillies sired by "Junior". Takai had her first foal the day after "Derby" was born. This Paint Filly was born May 13, 2003 between 2am and 7am. Her name is "Calabria", some call her "Callie". Individual photos courtesy of Scott Braxton. This colt is Nikki's second foal. His name is "Derby". He was born shortly after midnight on Monday, May 12, 2003. He missed being born on Mother's Day by less than an hour. Individual photos courtesy of Scott Braxton. This little guy was born early the morning of Sunday, October 27, 2002. Kelly Allen named him "Little Baby Boo" as he was born Halloween week. His mom is a quarter-pony named "Sweet Dreams", His dad is a quarter-pony paint named "Junior".
Lauren had to teach him how to nurse with a baby bottle since he couldn't quite get the hang of it on his own. Both mom and colt are doing just fine. This colt's name is Firecracker. He was born on July 11, 2002. His mom is a creamella named "Lisa", his dad is our quarter-pony paint stud "Junior". Photo courtesy of Scott Braxton.
Valentine was the first colt born at MBR in 2002. His mom, "Nikki", foaled on February 16 at night in one of the worst rain storms of the year. When Valentine was delivered, his sack didn't break and our Ranch Manager, Roberto Tejeda, had to assist with the successful delivery. |
